Liverpool To the editor:
On Monday, Nov. 5, and again during the weekend of Nov. 10 and 11, volunteers from Operation Sandy Relief traveled to Broad Channel and Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY, to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Our volunteers were inundated by countless donations from individuals, organizations and businesses, and we are extremely grateful to those who stepped up and continue to do so to help in this time of need.
We would like to extend our thanks to the following businesses and organizations for their donations (in no particular order):
American Legion Post 1404, Broad Channel, NY: Our first trip drop-off location. We truly appreciate the work they did to help people in Broad Channel and we wish them the best! We’ve since learned that they did not have enough volunteers to remain open, and their items have been moved to the VFW in Howard Beach.
